Team-Up analysis
Strengths, tradeoffs, and ideal situations for each option.
Jeff the Land Shark is not simply choosing between two bonuses: Guardian of the Deep and Mr. Pool’s Interdimensional Toy Box push the kit toward different priorities. The better choice depends on map geometry, team composition, fight tempo, and whether the anchor partner already provides value on their own. The analysis below weighs both the base effect and Enhanced ceiling without treating a situational advantage as a universal answer.
OPTION 1
Guardian of the Deep
ANCHOR · Venom
Guardian of the Deep, anchored by Venom, gives Jeff the Land Shark a very specific tactical route: Shoot out healing tendrils; linked allies receive Continuous Healing, and excess healing is converted into Bonus Health. As a Strategist, its real value depends as much on team utility and survival as on any extra damage. Its sustain component has value in extended fights, but loses impact when allies cannot survive the initial burst. Area pressure makes it especially useful around objectives, doorways, and clustered teams; spread-out fights reduce that advantage. In practice, this option is best when the composition can play around that condition and reproduce it reliably. Its weakness appears when the fight forces Jeff the Land Shark to react outside that plan, because part of the value is tied to a particular window, position, or interaction. With the Enhanced effect active, when teaming up with Venom, symbiote tendrils can also lash out at nearby enemies within range, inflicting continuous damage. That raises the option's ceiling, but it also means the composition with Venom has to justify the team slot.
OPTION 2
Mr. Pool’s Interdimensional Toy Box
ANCHOR · Deadpool
Mr. Pool’s Interdimensional Toy Box, anchored by Deadpool, gives Jeff the Land Shark a very specific tactical route: Gain a new ability to spit out a Deadpool Plushie. The plushie continuously Taunts nearby enemies while spraying a healing mist onto surrounding allies. With the Enhanced effect active, when teaming up with Deadpool, the Deadpool Plushie asserts a much stronger Taunt while concurrently damaging enemies caught in its radius. That raises the option's ceiling, but it also means the composition with Deadpool has to justify the team slot.
