Team-Up analysis

Strengths, tradeoffs, and ideal situations for each option.

Elsa Bloodstone is not simply choosing between two bonuses: Prehistoric Trap and Loudmouth Mercs push the kit toward different priorities. The better choice depends on map geometry, team composition, fight tempo, and whether the anchor partner already provides value on their own. The analysis below weighs both the base effect and Enhanced ceiling without treating a situational advantage as a universal answer.

OPTION 1

Prehistoric Trap

ANCHOR · Devil Dinosaur

Prehistoric Trap, anchored by Devil Dinosaur, gives Elsa Bloodstone a very specific tactical route: After deploying the Smoky Snare trap, Diablo will monitor the area. If enemies approach, Diablo Immobilizes and Damages them. He also releases a lethal gas, causing continuous area damage. As a Duelist, it should be judged by how consistently it converts an opening into pressure, damage, or a secured elimination. Area pressure makes it especially useful around objectives, doorways, and clustered teams; spread-out fights reduce that advantage. The direct offensive payoff is easy to understand, but it is only decisive when the team can safely maintain pressure. In practice, this option is best when the composition can play around that condition and reproduce it reliably. Its weakness appears when the fight forces Elsa Bloodstone to react outside that plan, because part of the value is tied to a particular window, position, or interaction. With the Enhanced effect active, when teaming up with Devil Dinosaur, Elsa can store and deploy two Smoky Snares. That raises the option's ceiling, but it also means the composition with Devil Dinosaur has to justify the team slot.

OPTION 2

Loudmouth Mercs

ANCHOR · Deadpool

Loudmouth Mercs, anchored by Deadpool, gives Elsa Bloodstone a very specific tactical route: Living Bullet changes to special rounds that Taunt targets with Deadpool’s chatter, while Slowing, and damaging nearby enemies over time. After a timer, the bullet auto-recalls, healing Elsa based on the damage dealt while adding one extra gauge block to her Inherited Instinct passive cap. As a Duelist, it should be judged by how consistently it converts an opening into pressure, damage, or a secured elimination. Its sustain component has value in extended fights, but loses impact when allies cannot survive the initial burst. The defensive layer can deny a predictable damage window, although timing and placement matter more than raw output. In practice, this option is best when the composition can play around that condition and reproduce it reliably. Its weakness appears when the fight forces Elsa Bloodstone to react outside that plan, because part of the value is tied to a particular window, position, or interaction. With the Enhanced effect active, when teaming up with Deadpool, Deadpool breaks the fourth wall, significantly boosting Instinct acquisition rate. That raises the option's ceiling, but it also means the composition with Deadpool has to justify the team slot.
